Dry Stone Walling.
In August 2006 I visited Scotland and had the opportunity to work alongside Master Dry Stone Waller Norman Haddow, building a field wall near Auchterarder in Perthshire.

Foundation.
Large stones are positioned to form the foundation. The batter frame seen in the foreground and string lines are used to place stones in the correct alinement. |

Through stones.
Through stones are positioned midway up at regular intervals along the wall to bind its two sides together. |
|
|
|
Coping.
Coping stones are layed on top and locked into place to finish the wall. |
